Hair Paste and Hair Clay

We can all admit that taking a walk down the aisle of hair care products at your local store can be overwhelming, to say the least.

With tons of brands, products, and variations of different products it can almost seem impossible to make a decision on which is best.

Most people, admittedly, will grab their “usual” and head on to browse for other items.

There are some very exciting hair care and styling products on the market right now, and we will help in easing any confusion you may have on the differences between Hair Paste and Hair Clay.

Although most people assume it is the same thing, and just named differently. That is far from the truth, and choosing the right one can be the difference your new hairstyle needs!

You may be newer to styling your hair or are trying a different style for the time being.

When it comes to completing new styles on your hair, the cut is not the only important aspect. Picking and using the right hair styling product can make or break a “good looking do!”

I have tried both Hair Paste and Clay, and there is a small amount of difference but that difference gives you a quick and easy hair styling session or it can be a long and dreadful session.

It all depends on the hairstyle you are trying to achieve.  If you are styling your longer hair, I would stay away from CLAY and opt for the PASTE.

If you have a shorter hair style but still need to achieve mobility with your hair throughout the day, stick to the CLAY products versus the PASTE.

What is Hair Paste?

Although there is not a 100% agreement on exactly what defines a “hair paste.” But, if you try a few different brands and products, you will quickly realize that there are definite similarities between them all.

Typically it is when you touch the paste that you can tell it is similar to all other hair pastes on the market.

The feeling of the paste typically ranges between the feeling of toothpaste to a tacky glue.

These products are usually thicker than others and gives the styled hair a medium to firm hold. Many options are available, but some are a matte finish, and some can give a bit of a shine to the hair.

Got2B Products such as this one will give you great amount of hold and enough to be able to mess with your hair freely after your styling is complete.

This Paste will not harden and will make your life throughout the day much easier.

You won’t be to worried if someone passes by and messes with your hair, because this product allows you to sip your fingers right through your hair and bring it back to the hairstyle you had this morning.

Who Should Use Hair Paste?

There is a general consensus and agreement that hair paste is one of the most versatile and handy hair styling product for men with almost any type of hair texture or style.

Do you have long hair? Or, maybe you have fine or thicker hair? When it comes to hair paste, it can be used with almost any type of hair texture, length, and style.

When barbers and hair professionals claim that hair paste is the most versatile in hair styling products, they mean it!

My hair is more towards the thinner side, and I have found that using a little bit of Paste when my hair is damp, then blow drying to my desired hairstyle, then adding a little bit more when fully styled and dried, gives it the best look and hold.

Clay on the other hand is very powerful and with thin hair it holds it incredibly.

For me Paste is good enough to get that absolute hold I need and versatility if I need to restyle throughout the day/

What is Hair Clay?

Hair clay could be said to be the “new kid on the block” when it comes to hair styling products.

It is a newer classification in men’s hair care products, but this option gives even more freedom when it comes to deciding what styling product you will use to attain the desired style of the hair.

With “clay” in the name, it is no shock that one of the main ingredients in these products is a clay ingredient that is included in the formula.

For people that are conscious of the chemicals that they use regularly, hair clay is a great option. The clay that is typically used is bentonite.

This ingredient is completely natural and is derived from weathered volcanic ash.

People who use hair clay typically describe it as being fine and powdery and frequently say it has a “velvety” feeling on their hand.

Hair Clay is very powerful and has a strong hold.  Whether you have your hair wet and use the clay or blow dry and style your hair with this product, you will have a great amount of hold.

Once styled to desired look, it will be a little bit harder to restyle throughout the day with Clay products.

Is Hair Clay a Good Option?

Users typically say that using the clay makes their hair feel “bulkier.” This effect is felt when a hair styling product “adds body” to the hair.

The thickness and structure of the hair are increased, which helps in keeping the styled hair stable and looking excellent throughout the day.

If you have a hairstyle that you are trying to maintain that has a good majority of volume, but are also worried about a product weighing down your hair, you are in luck!

Hair clay is excellent for attaining those styles that are typically tricky in balancing both the weight of the hair and adding volume.

Long Hairstyles will be held greatly and completely with Clay

As I said before you will want to make sure you achieve the look you will want to have most of the day because once established, clay is a little less versatile than Paste at this point.

I use Hair Clay more when I have shorter hairstyles

The original Spikey and Textured look holds really great with Clay and can become a little bit more versatile than with long hair.

It gives it that perfect edgy look and holds it right where you need it throughout the day.

Hair Clay: One of Those Perks That Make You Feel Great!

An extra benefit to using hair clay is from the natural health benefits in the clay (bentonite).

The one benefit that stands out above the others (which are excellent too) is the healing properties of the clay.

The clay helps in stimulating the scalp, and also the hair shaft, which is astounding in promoting hair growth! It also is excellent in nourishing the scalp because of the richness in minerals and nutrients.

Another is that for people with more frizzy hair, the clay can help in moisturizing the hair (which reduces frizziness). This is beneficial for men with curly or long hair.

Hair Paste and Clay? Check. But, What is Pomade?

Providing information about hair clay and paste brings the most common question of explaining what Pomade is.

We could go on detailing the many different aspects and categories that are included when referring to pomade.

The simplest way to explain it is that pomade is a “catch-all term” in the men’s hair styling product industry. Many times the title is thrown on products that could all be very different.

The one aspect that is agreed upon under the “Pomade umbrella” would be that the product should result in a sleek, well maintained, and neat look. Hairstyles that rely on pomade to get the desired look are typically styled using a comb.

But, There Are Still So Many Products!

Hair paste and clay are just the “tip of the iceberg” as the old saying goes.

There are many variations and different products being brought on to the market every day.

Each comes with their intended use and styling techniques, and most can be used together if done properly.
