Intro
When it comes to choosing the right trimmer, it takes trial and error. You must try a few of the leading trimmers in the industry.
This review will help you narrow down if you will choose to try the Andis Slimline Pro Li or not. In the next several paragraphs, I give you the actual standard of each category as well as my take on that category for the Andis Slim Line Pro.
I hope after you read this review, you will be better off and atleast have a thought in your mind whether you will add the Andis Slimline Pro Li to your Barber Case. Good Luck.
- Weight – The weight of this trimmer is unbelievable. It weights 0.3 lbs, which when compared to the Andis T Outliner it weighs at 0.6 lbs.
- If you hold your phone on one of your hands and the Andis Slim LIne Pro Li on the other, I can almost guarantee the trimmer is significantly lighter. It is so light that when cutting hair with it, you do not tire whatsoever. The light weight of the trimmer makes you start thinking that it may be cheaper than most trimmers and not good quality, but stay tuned to the rest of the bullet points, and you will find its top quality with a very impressive motor.
- Battery LIfe – The battery life is outstanding. With full charge you can get a full 2 hours of cutting. It is phenomenal. The great thing about the charging stand that comes with the trimmer, is that when you finish using the trimmer to, lets say bald out the lower half of your clients hair, you can always pop it back onto the charger so it will never loose its charge. I cut hair 10 hours a day straight on with no breaks, unless a finish a haircut quickly, and I have never had the Andis Slimline Pro Li loose complete charge or even slowdown dramatically. The battery life is leading the pack in andis cordless trimmers.
- Motor – The rotary motor is one of the fastest and most powerful in the industry. It operates at 6000 spins per minute (SPM), which is very powerful. You wouldn’t think when you hold this lightweight trimmer in your hand, that it would go through any kind of hair (thin-thick).
- I was very surprised when i started going through one of my clients hair, which is one of the thickest that I cut, and i was able to go through the hair with ease. One thing that I will point out, is that you are not able to zoom through the hair as quick as you can with the Andis T Outliner. If you do try to go fast, the blade will stall and you will have to adjust it a little bit with your fingers and add some clipper oil.
- Accessories – Do not worry if you need to use these trimmers for facial hair because the accessories that come with it have your back. It comes with 4 guards and clipper oil.
- The sizes of the four guards that are included are as follow: (1/16″, 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″). I never use these guards because of preference to use other clippers or trimmers with the same guards. I will say that in tough to reach places, such as under the nose for the mustache, I would recommend using them because the guards are smaller than they are for large bulky clippers.
- Blade – The amount of precision and sharpness this blade is incredible. You must be very careful, even if you don’t zero gap it, ( check out the video down below to learn how to adjust your blade) you must be aware that the amount of power this trimmer has plus the sharpness of the blade because it will cut your client.
- You want to be very careful around the nape area as well as around the ears. If you catch an edge of the trimmer on any soft spot that has a curve to it, it will cut and you won’t even feel or notice it until you see your client jump, say something, or worst case, see blood drawn.
- Fit in Hand – The length of these these trimmers is significantly long when compared to the Andis T Outliner. They are much slimmer than that of the Andis T Outliner as well, therefore when you begin to use the trimmer you will have to get used to it. You will be using more of your thumb and fingers than that of your palm, thumb and fingers, but it is a great clipper nonetheless.
- Price – The amount you pay for the Andis Slim Line Pro Li is very impressive. it is a lower amount than that of other trimmers. Its design and light weight functions have made it less expensive, yet very powerful and among leaders in the trimmer category.
- Cord/Cordless – The Andis Slim Line Pro Li only comes cordless.
- The fact that it is only cordless upsets a lot of peopled, yet all of its other characteristics allow it to add up to one of the finest trimmers in the industry. Its tough and sharp blade, its motor and all of the above, give it a great rating. The fact that it is cordless allows you to move throughout the chair at your station. Do not take it for granted.
- Finish on the Clipper – ABS polymer, which is a tough polymer. It also was built with impact resistance for durability and protection. The beautiful chrome finish is what makes it very elegant and pleasing to have in hand during a haircut. When you hold it in hand, the finish is very smooth but you can definitely tell that it is not made with cheap material. It definitely feels durable.
- Turn on/off Lever – The lever is easy to access. It is right at your thumb, whether you hold it with your right or left hand. Its a sliding lever which makes it easy to turn on and off.
CONCLUSION
I hope this review helped you decide whether you will try the Andis Slim LIne Pro Li or not. I always say, you must try anything that catches your eye.
A review will say one thing with specifics, but your hand eye coordination and style of cutting hair will tell you another. Good luck and I wish you the best in your Barbering Career.
